My 2 year old son has one leg longer than other. What should I do?
I first noticed when he was 1 and he kept his right foot little outward normal posture right. Doctors initially told us that this is due to the difference in the angle of his hip. Now when we went to the doctor and showed him fresh x-ray, he said this is due to the difference in leg length that is due to a cyst (an additional growth) in the bone. The doctors told me to come with a new X-ray after 3 months. He said that 90% of these cases are cured by nature as a child grow. I'm worried
If your mind is not comfortable after consultations with your current doctor does not feel sheepish about obtain a second opinion or third. It's your son, you are entitled to be a bit forcable when it comes to his health. Doctors do not know everything and sometimes things fall through the cracks. However, it is not uncommon for legs to be of different lengths as children (and adolescents) develop. If there is a big difference, I would look into obtaining a waiver of durable shoes back / spine may cause problems and you certainly do not want that. If the difference between your son increases the legs after three months, no doubt seek another opinion and / or contact to a specialist if you have not already.
