During the Mass when the prayer is said Lords do you stretch your arms (I think the name because it Orans posture) or do you tighten the hand of the person near you, or do you fold your hands, or something else? Do you think it's alright to stretch your arms?
I prefer the Orans posture, but if someone wants to hold hands I hold hands. The ancient monuments of Christianity, like the tombs in the catacombs, are often evidence of a person in the position Orans pray. There is much debate whether Orans posture or holding hands is legitimate for the mainstream mass Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM) does not mention the posture of the congregation during the Lord's Prayer.
